Down through the ages people have considered the ability to create something out of nothing to be magical. And to some extent it is!
But IS a composer creating out of "nothing"? Sure, a composition now exists that wasn't there before. But a composer has fashioned it out of life experiences, musical background, technical knowledge and emotional feelings, aspects that may be invisible to others in the material world, but are very real within the internal world of the artist. Art is the realm of thought and feeling made tangible. And so it seems as if a composer creates something out of nothing. Long live creativity!
